Rowley View Nursery School
This half term, we've been taking part in the Insect Lore - Caterpillars to Butterflies scheme!
The caterpillars have eaten, spun silk and grown for approximately 7 to 10 days before they began to change into chrysalides.
During this incredible period of growth, they will shed their exoskeletons four times and grow more than 10 times their original size! When they have finished growing, the caterpillars will climb to the top of the cup (this is the stage they're currently in!).
Once there, they will hang from the paper disk in a “j” shape under the lid.
The children love learning all about our snails and having the opportunity to hold them too! Our snails enjoy apple, banana, cucumber and lettuce. We have lots of baby snails - would you be interested in taking some home?
Your child's consultation is taking place on Friday 18th October 2024. Please speak to your child's Key Worker to confirm the time of your appointment. Thank you
REMINDER: School will be CLOSED to your child on this day. There will be toys and activities available for your child while you discuss their progress and share any concerns or requests you may have.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
